Reading about an Amazing Woman!
I teach English, Science, Arts and ICT. I like to related my subjects as much as possible.
As many of other teachers, if we are learning about animals in Science, we read stories or articles of animals
in our English lesson. When we have topics about discovers and inventions, there are always famous scientist men.
Years ago, I started to introduce relevant women always that I have an opportunity. So “my girls” can see how
women were able to make a space for themselves long time ago in fields that were exclusively for men.
This reading is about Kevlar, a material that was invented by Stephanie Kwolek, and it is used in bulletproof vest.
At the end of the reading there are some questions. They can answer using their notebooks or answering a
Google Form if they have their own devices.

Having a prepared material for the reading and also having already possible questions to know if the reading has been understood is very useful for the fast pace we have nowadays and we need quality tools.
